Why you need a photo session to capture your dog’s portrait

“ Portrait photography is all about the face. A photographer's goal is to take a carefully crafted photograph of a person's distinguishing facial features while capturing the person's attitude, identity, and personality” [Study.com] .

This beauty is Laika and I think her portrait is gorgeous with her sweet face and unique expression perfectly captured!

The same definition can be applied to dog portraits. Let’s face it our animals communicate with facial expressions too, even if it is only the owner who can read them!

How often have you taken a snapshot of your dog, only to think afterwards how wonderfully it captures his personality!

That is what I strive to do as a pet photographer - capture the essence of your dog’s personality in beautiful photographic art.

So why should you have a professional dog portrait session?

  • You want to have photos you can share with pride.

  • A great dog portrait is something you will want to show your friends and family.

  • Your portrait will be a piece of art that you may display on your wall.

  • But more importantly, it is a piece of art that will be a beautiful keepsake of your furry friends, something you will treasure forever and allow you to reminisce about your pet, even when he is long gone.

Look at these examples of portraits taken during dog portrait sessions in the Toronto area - don’t they show each dog’s unique personality?
